Winterton on Sea
Winterton-on-Sea is lovely village on the Norfolk coast located on the edge of the Winterton Dunes Nature Reserve, an area of outstanding natural beauty and the seaward side of Martham Nature Reserve and Horsey Mere. Winterton is a fantastic place to stay and there is plenty of accommodation to cater for all visitors. The village pub produces great food, wonderful ambience and a warm welcome to the tired and sandy dogs that find their way in with their owners. The lovely church provides a haven of tranquility and the beach cafe a great cuppa. Winterton has great beaches with a wide expanse of sandy dunes great for finding the Natterjack Toads, even the occasional adder has been spotted sunbathing. Terns too are residents in this idyllic Norfolk coastal village. The seal colonies bask in the winter sun with their pups, the males patrol in the water just off the beach and the mothers are very protective, so caution is advised, keep dogs on leads when watching the seals.
