Wayford
Wayford or Wayford Bridge is a small community on the upper reaches of the River Ant, close to the large town of Stalham in the northern Broads. It is a hub of activity with boatyards, hotel, restaurants and even a flourishing garden nursery and fruit farm within a short distance of the river. Once under the bridge, the water is very clear with plenty of waterlilies, pretty scenery and riverbanks and is navigable up to Tylers Cut at Dilham. Wayford was in days gone by, a stopping point for wherries plying their trade from North Walsham through the North Walsham Dilham Canal to Great Yarmouth.
