Salhouse
Salhouse is a large village located just four miles from Wroxham. The village is slit into two parts. The railway is found in one part and a good mile or so the other part of the village boasts a fine pub, a post office and Salhouse Broad. Reed Cutters and Thatchers have plied their trade from this village for centuries, harvesting the reeds from the extensive reed beds around Salhouse Broad, which lies about half a mile to the north of the village. The Broad is privately owned and jointly managed with the local community and is accessible by boat from the River Bure and via a footpath from the village.
