Although you cannot reach the pub directly by water, the X2 bus route stops very close by, and cycle route 30 runs right passed the entrance. There are also several footpaths that are close enough to make a detour for a quick half whilst out rambling or bird watching!
Situated on the A146 between the fishing port of Lowestoft (5 miles) and the Market Town of Beccles (3 miles), the Three Horseshoes offers a vast array of refreshments and good traditional home cooked food in a Family run Pub. And it’s not just any pub, the Three Horseshoes is said to be one of the oldest remaining working pubs in the area dating back to 1497, and is seated in front of the splendid medieval parish church, St. Botolph.
With ample off-road parking and indoor and outdoor seating (including the new Beer Garden which is under development), this all year round country pub and restaurant is a great place to visit.
Join us for a Light Lunch, Dinner or Evening Meal
Serving food from Tuesdays through to Sundays both at Lunch and in the Evenings, our extensive menu offers choice for everyone – there is even a special menu for the children (Elmo’s Menu) named after our resident Black Labrador.
Our meals are mostly Traditional or Home-cooked, and as much as possible we source our produce and meats locally. For those with a big appetite, there’s our signature “Shoes Burger” which is a whopping double stacked burger with chunky chips and onion rings!
Although we try to change our Guest Ales on a regular basis (usually weekly) to give you something new to try, you’ll always find some old favourites that will nearly always be around, like our Ales - Doombar (4.0%), Lagers - Stella (4.8%), San Miguel (5.0%), Cider – Aspall (5.5%) Stout – Guiness (4.1%). Some draft offerings are seasonal, like Strongbow.
We have three fully stocked chillers for bottled beers, Alco-pops and soft drinks, and a solid selection of Spirits to choose from
The Three Horseshoes has a function room with both separate and joined entrances to the pub and can be hired for Private Functions, Meetings, Wakes, Training or Receptions.
Events are held regularly and details can be found on our Events & Functions page, details are also posted to our Facebook Page. We often have Live Music, Quiz Nights and Special Events like Tarrot Reading.
The outdoor area is being developed ready for the Summer of 2017 where we hope to have a Weekend BBQ area, Games Area and a children’s play area.
