Welcome to our beautiful 17th century art, deli, cafe and village store located in Horning on the banks of the River Bure.
The Galley has become an oasis for holiday makers and locals seeking homemade food with locally sourced ingredients. Many of the sweet treats are being made by Claire's mum, who is nearly 80 years old and insists on traditional mixing and baking methods.
Claire and her team have developed the Galley as a showcase for local artists and artisans, and there is also a wide range of interesting food and gift products sourced from within and outside the UK.
Buy from the deli, take away a coffee, eat in the licensed cozy cafe, and buy some gifts for yourself or others: this really is a one stop for great homemade goods and a bit of retail therapy, with a wide range of arts and crafts, souvenirs, ceramics, textiles and glassware to browse through. As if this wasn't enough light meals are also served in the art gallery! Well worth a visit when you come to Horning!
We have been trading for over ten years and have gradually built the business with the continuous loyal support of our enthusiastic local community and the fantastic patronage of tourists.
The Galley is a first rate Delicatessen and Off Licence that offers local cheeses, cooked meats, home made cakes, olive bar, locally produced high class ready meals, jams, pickles, condiments, confectionery, beers, spirits and wines.
If there is one village to visit whilst on the Broads then Horning and The Galley are a must see!
