Day Boats

For hire periods of a day, or up to full weeks, we have our open boats known as Half-Deckers (day boats), from single sail balanced lugs to our Gunter rigged mainsail and jib boats.

Our Sailing Boats

At Hunters Yard in Ludham in the heart of the lovely Norfolk Broads, we have 8 Traditional Wooden Half-Deckers available for hire, 3 Gunter Rigs and 3 Balanced Lugs including Rebel Reveller, Lucky Rebel and Valiant Rebel the only Rebels available for hire on the Norfolk Broads. All provide a lively but elegant experience for seasoned sailors and passengers alike.

The Norfolk & Suffolk Broads is a unique world famous wetland that has over 120 miles of navigable rivers and lakes. This area of unspoilt natural beauty with its vast skies can offer the very best in leisurely and relaxing holidays. There are large broads, pretty rural villages, sandy beaches and beautiful countryside ready for you to explore.

The Broads also offers a wide variety of activities to complement your sailing: cycling (bring your own and tow them in one of our dinghies), fishing, walking, canoeing or taking a stroll from your yacht to the sea to the beautiful unspoilt beach at Horsey! The fine city of Norwich (the most complete medieval city in Britain), historic market towns and the busy coastal resorts of Cromer, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft are also within reach of Hunter’s Yard

Sailing Holidays

Available for Sailing Holidays. Our Fleet of historic 1930s traditional wooden sailing yachts have no engines onboard so are eco-friendly and offer the experienced sailor a sail second to none and many of our stunning fleet have been fitted with eco-friendly Torqeedo ' electric" units to act as an 'electric quant'.. The Hunter Family built our yachts specifically for the Norfolk Broads over 80 years ago and boast a compliment of five 2 berths, five 3 berths and four 4 berth boats.
