Herbert Woods Canoes

Herbert Woods in Potter Heigham on the upper reaches of the River Thurne, has Canadian Canoes for hire which take up to 3 people and are ideal for the complete novice. You do not need any real experience and it's a great way to spend the day on the River.

Our open cockpit twin kayak is very stable and easy to paddle with high backed seats for two and plenty of space for storage.

Our canoes and kayaks are available 7 days a week from the 1st March until the 31st October, between the hours of 9am and 5pm. To book please call our team on 0800 144 4472. You will also find more information including prices on our website.

On arrival, a member of our Herbert Woods team will give you a very short brief on how to paddle and some very useful tips about the River and some of the best places to go to. Lifejackets are included if you don't have your own. After your short brief you are ready to go!

As you leave from Potter Heigham there are many places along the River Thurne that you can row to.

Hicking Broad, Horning and Womack water are all within a few miles. St bennetts abbey is just before you come across The River Ant which leads you to Ludham Bridge.
