Nestling in the premier shopping street in the centre of the historic market town of Bungay on the Norfolk and Suffolk border and surrounded by many individual and specialist shops, some of which have been established for generations, Earsham Street Café is a 17th Century building bursting with character and enjoying a colourful past, having seen service as an inn with a cock fighting pit, a bookmakers, a bazaar and a traditional tearoom.
Now it’s home to our café. We are passionate about making indulgent cakes and creating delicious food from locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. We hope you enjoy your visit.
Cookie JarsEarsham Street Café is the ideal destination for morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea, with plenty of indulgent treats to tempt you at any time of the day.
The café offers regularly changing menus influenced by the seasons and availability of local ingredients. All home cooked, even the jams and chutneys are made in-house. As you would expect excellent Fairtrade coffee, tea and locally produced cold drinks are served all day.
We also have a great choice for vegetarians and gluten and dairy-free cakes and meals are available.
The former cock-fighting pit is now a hidden courtyard garden with outside seating, providing a delightful sunny area for alfresco dining.
Children are most welcome.
Well behaved dogs are welcome in the Courtyard Garden area – making The Earsham Street Café a great destination to bring the family, meet a friend or just relax and read our magazines and papers with a refreshing cup of tea.
The café is ideal to visit on its own or can be combined with a visit to the shops of Bungay.
