The Barton House Railway (BHR) re-creates a traditional railway atmosphere where the whole family can enjoy the nostalgia of the golden age of steam with two ride-on railways, a fully working signalling system and authentic tickets.
During your visit you can also explore our extensive museum of railway artefacts with a Midland and Great Northern theme, enjoy delicious cakes, some of those home-made, and light refreshments by the river and also observe the signalman at work in our full-size original signal box which acts as the nerve centre controlling the railways.
The BHR is run totally by volunteers and will always donate to the chosen charities for that year.
We are open from 2.30pm to 5.30pm on the third Sunday of the Month, from April to October, as well as Easter Monday.
The admission price includes one single trip on the Riverside Railway and Admission to the Museum. If you would like to travel by boat, the cost of the return trip by boat is included in the admission price.
