amazing how quickly a month flies by when we are all so busy. We
will as usual be bringing you local news and views along with

Last time we wrote we had said what a slow start to the summer and the fact that we had seen much of the sunshine well, we have seen it once or twice, but here we are on another gloomy day, however I must admit that for those of you who have not been to visit us in our new bright and airy premises, you don’t know what you are missing, we create our own sunshine, and remember the coffee is always ready.

Airport News!
Spanish airline LTE has introduced Malaga and two of the Canary Islands to its winter schedule from Norwich International Airport. Malaga on the Costa del Sol is being added, along with Las Palmas, the capital of Gran Canaria, and Tenerife – the largest of the Canaries. They join Alicante and Palma in LTE’s timetables from November. Tickets go on sale within the next seven to ten days on the airline’s website and via local travel agencies. Read More.

East of England farmland prices have risen by an average 48 percent year-on-year to a record high although ‘lifestyle’ buyers are retreating from the market, says the latest RICS rural market survey. East of England Co-op acquires Wherstead Park
The East of England Co-operative Society has exchanged contracts to acquire Wherstead Park, the site outside Ipswich vacated by energy company E.ON at the end of June. Up to 10 million homes will get fibre-optic based broadband in the next few years, if recently announced plans to replace much of the UK's existing copper wire network are completed on time. PC Pro Fails GCSE
"Ridiculous" GCSE ICT exam questions have defeated the best efforts of a team of knowledgeable adults from PC Pro magazine who tried the test. "Thousands of pupils are sitting ICT GCSE exams that are so baffling or ambiguous that they confounded our IT experts" says staff writer Barry Collins. Five of the PC Pro team sat the ICT Higher paper, which pupils would have taken last summer. Some questions on the paper tripped up every member of the team and several multiple-choice questions that demanded pupils tick only one box had more than one correct answer. Other questions were ridiculously easy. One displayed five records from a database and asked "How many records are shown in this database table?". "It's a test of whether you can count to five," concluded one of the PC Pro staff. Read More.

Have you been guilty of looking at others your own age and thinking, "surely I can't look that old?"
I was sitting in the waiting room for my first appointment with a new dentist. I noticed his dds diploma, which bore his full name. suddenly, I remembered a tall, handsome, dark-haired boy with the same name had been in my high school class some 40-odd years ago. could he be the same guy that I had a secret crush on, way back then?
Upon seeing him, however, I quickly discarded any such thought. this balding, gray-haired man with the deeply lined face was way too old to have been my classmate. hmmm,...or could he?
After he examined my teeth, I asked him if he had attended central high school. "Yes. yes, I did. " He gleamed with pride. "When did you graduate?" I asked. he answered, "in 1961. why do you ask?" "you were in my class!" I exclaimed.
He looked at me closely. then, that ugly, old, wrinkled son-of-a-bitch asked, "What did you teach?"
